Document Essentials

1.  Always ensure the seller and the buyer's address is complete.

2.  Place HS Tariff codes on all commercial /customs /Free Trade documents 

3.  Ensure your incoterms are correct with the named place on your letters of instruction and commercial /customs invoices.

4.  On CPT, CIF, DDU and DDP transactions, indicate the amount of freight, duty, tax separately. 

5.  Clearly indicate the currency.

6.  Show piece count consistently.  Do not indicate 2 pallets on one document and 1000 pieces on another.  Do show 2 skids said to contain 1000 pcs consistently on all related documents.

7.  Valuate the product accurately.  Unrealistic values will red flag your shipment and cause delays.

8.  Obtain the export and import permits before despatch.
